Description
Eleanor was the youngest of three surviving Marx children. She was the only to be born, live, love, work, and die in England to become a public figure in her own right. Volume One of this highly acclaimed biography tells Eleanor's story from her birth in 1855 up to and throughout the year of her father's death in 1883. Volume Two opens with Eleanor's common-law union with Edward Aveling in 1884 and concludes in 1898 when she committed suicide at the age of the forty-three.
