Tomson Highway tells the story of Champion and ooneemeetoo Okimasis, Cree brothers who are all too soon torn from their magical life in northern Manitoba and thurst into the hostile world of a Catholic residential school. Their language is forbidden, their names are changed to Jeremiah and Gabriel, and both boys are abused at the hands of their teachers.
